“Vending machine for supporting Hair Donation” was installed at “Oita University”, for the first time at national university. This machine was created through collaborative design by Aderans, JHD&C, and Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan

We not only install “Vending machine for Supporting Hair Donation” but introduce this. Oita University and we have been carrying out various plans together such as co-research activities and opening In-Hospital Hair Salon at the hospital of Oita University medical school. These collaborative activities have contributed to introducing and installing “Vending Machine for Supporting Hair Donation” this time.

We were given “Gold” of Cancer Ally Award 2019. This award is conducted by private sector project working on the issue of “Cancer and Working”, which is related to people who work and get cancer treatment.
Our approach was rated high as advanced by our setting “Regulation of Support for Work Situations of Cancer Patients” and describing clearly about support points by employer companies.

2019 Osaka Prefecture’s raising public awareness and promoting SDGs Special Match by JFL FC Osaka

We co-sponsored “2019 Osaka Prefecture’s raising public awareness and promoting SDGs Special Match”, which was sponsored by JFL FC Osaka.
At our booth at the stadium, we presented several things for soccer supporters. Included are booklets, which explains about our activities of medical business, compact mirrors, and nail files. And also, upon request, our technical specialist put pink colored Hair Extension(hairpiece) on hair for each person. And more, for those who participated in donations, we presented pink colored badges created by our original design. About money collected by fund raising activities, we donated it to special non-profit corporation “Pink Ribbon Osaka”.

Pink Ribbon Smile Walk

We support the Pink Ribbon Campaign that conveys the importance of early detection, early diagnosis, and early treatment of breast cancer. In addition to distributing the Pink Ribbon badge, we have set up the "Pink Ribbon Mark" stand at the reception desks of all sales offices in an effort to raise employee awareness. In 2019, we participated in the Pink Ribbon Smile Walk held in Tokyo for the 9th time.

Aderans and FANCL held a Collaborative Seminar on Appearance Care, titled “A x F Beautiful Smile”, for the first time.

In order to raise the level of QOL of cancer patients、we held a collaborative seminar titled “A x F Beatiful Smile”, which is related to appearance care. Last year, when Aderans and FANCL participated in an event about appearance care, both of us realized that we have the know-how on hair care and skin care. And also found that we shared the will to support creating better and positive environment for cancer patients’ treatment by raising the level of QOL through appearance care. And so, we realized this collaborative seminar.
Aderans and FANCL are going to promote more collaborative approaches to support cancer patients’ positive efforts toward treatment and rehabilitation.

Appearance Care Seminar for health care workers

We held seminar, 1st Shizuoka Appearance Care Study Meeting, for health care workers as the first time.
Through installing Salons in hospitals for 17 yeas since 2002, our company has been put emphasis on efforts on activities of Appearance Care to raise the level of QOL of various patients. And as a part of these activities, this seminar for health care workers was held for the first time.

“For the first time in the industry”, Aderans’ custom-made-wig was certified as “Physical Condition Improvement Equipment”.

On September 13th Friday, total of all 14 series of custom-made-wig was certified as “Physical Condition Improvement Equipment” which was defined by specified non-profit corporation Japan Home Health Equipment Association. This was first time in the industry. Evaluated points were not only its level of quality and safety but its versatility of shape, size, and hair style ---- which can be realized by its custom-made process to fit each customer. Unlike ready-made wig, our custom-made wig has these characteristics.

Attitude survey on Hair Donation: Young people are interested in Hair Donation

We held this survey because social awareness level about Hair Donation was getting higher in recent years. The results showed that awareness level of Hair Donation was 60.9% overall, and specifically high level of 76.1% of women. Although many people are aware of Hair Donation, many of them need more information. Some feel that it’s difficult and say, “It is tough for me to grow my hair long”. And others want basic information and say, “I don’t know the requirements for hair”, or “I want to know specific process for Hair Donation”. From now on, too, we are going to raise awareness level of Hair Donation as a part of our CSR activities.

JHD&C Summer Vacation Family Event

We supported JHD&C Summer vacation family event on July 21st (in Tokyo) and August 4th (in Osaka), 2019. At this event, all companies showed their characteristics through exhibitions---- started with flamenco dance by dancer with wig followed by talk show of wig user's experiences, demonstrations of cutting hair for hair donation, hair sorting experience, and trial-wear experiences. Through various exhibitions of wigs, many children showed smiles and this event became a nice one for families.

Anju's photography exhibition: "Invisible Kyoto" was held during Saturday, June 8th ~Sunday, June 30th, 2019, at "Museum 「Eki」 KYOTO", sponsored by "Museum 「Eki」 KYOTO" and "Kyoto Shimbun (newspaper company)". Aderans' wigs were offered to Ms. Anju and used at shooting session, and they were exhibited at the museum with "12 Hitoe", ancient kimono dress worn at imperial court, which was used for shooting, too.

"Green Forest Campaign" Collaboration with NPO Sakura Namiki Network

Since 2017, we have been supporting cherry blossom tree planting in areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. This year was the third participation in the "Life Forest with a Sea View" project to plant trees at the tsunami arrival point in Minamisanriku-cho. The "Life Forest with the Sea" project was launched in 2016. It is a place to convey "what we learned," "what we need to convey to future generations," "what we want to pray," and "the landscape we want to keep." Minamisanriku-cho locals are planting trees every March along with 3.11.

We have continued to make efforts in CSR activities with the policy of "Make our strength contribute to society". This time, we produced a CSR movie which introduces our "4 Typical Activities of Our CSR" in our members' interview. Activities are "Love Charity", “In-hospital Hair Salon”, "Fontaine Green forest campaign" and "Cultural Arts Division (Studio AD)". We use this movie as a tool to make our activities known to internal and external of our group.

Medical Wigs for Working Female Cancer Patients

We released ”TEAMRafra”, which are medical wigs for working female cancer patients. ”TEAMRafra” was developed in collaboration with the cancer patient's life support company VOL-NEXT Co., Ltd.,. Using VOL-NEXT's needs and know-how, data taken from about 200,000 patients, this product is a set of two; one for the workplace, and one for households. Female cancer patients can wear it at work and at home, throughout the day.

Since 2009, we have been involved in an initiative, dubbed "Fontaine Green Forest Campaign," to plant trees on mountains in Japan. We have run this campaign eight times and have contributed to the planting of more than 1200 trees in total.

We started to support JHDAC (JAPAN HAIR DONATION & CHARITY) and collaborate with making of wigs from April 1. JHDAC, a NPO, has made order made wigs of 100% human hairs which were donated, and provided wigs free of charge for children who need wigs for reasons of the diseases.
