Aderans Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, Japan; Representative Director and President: Hiromasa Suzuki), a global leader in hair, beauty, health and medical wellness, held the "Fontaine Green Forest Campaign -- Green Forest Smile Activity: Red Pine Tree-Planting" on Dec. 9, 2025, and Feb. 3, 2026, at Shizuoka Prefectural Forest Park in Hamana Ward, Hamamatsu, Japan. This marks the seventh year of activities at the site.

As part of its ongoing environmental initiative, Aderans has continued the "Fontaine Green Forest Campaign" for 17 years since 2009, connecting the collection of unused wigs with environmental conservation. Since May 2019, Aderans has supported red pine forest regeneration activities at Shizuoka Prefectural Forest Park. On Dec. 9, participants conducted clearing work to remove undergrowth and prepare the land, followed by a tree-planting in the prepared area on Feb. 3. A total of 70 red pine trees were planted this year.

Aderans President and CEO Hiromasa Suzuki participated in the February planting activity for the first time since assuming his current position. In addition, six external participants, including a director from Entetsu Department Store, joined again this year following last year's activities.

Across both activities, a cumulative total of 65 participants took part, reflecting growing engagement in the initiative. Aderans will continue to support the regeneration of red pine forests that enhance the natural landscape through these efforts.

■ Comment from Hiromasa Suzuki, President and CEO of Aderans
"I am pleased that we were able to carry out the tree-planting activity with so many participants under favorable weather conditions. Looking ahead, I hope to expand participation to our overseas group companies and further share the significance of this initiative. I look forward to seeing how the trees we planted will grow. While our company works to improve quality of life through our business, the foundation of that effort lies in the global environment. Contributing to environmental sustainability is part of our mission. As we watch these trees grow, we will continue to grow as a company and as individuals."

■ About Activities at Shizuoka Prefectural Forest Park
Shizuoka Prefectural Forest Park, dominated by red pine forests, is a natural landscape cherished by local residents and has been selected by Japan's Ministry of the Environment as a "Rural landscapes (Satoyama/Satochi) of high importance for biodiversity conservation." It is also recognized as a habitat for rare species.

However, after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, the park was unable to secure helicopters for aerial spraying of pine pesticides to control pine wilt disease, resulting in a sharp increase in pest damage. As a result, the red pine forests, which once formed extensive pure stands throughout the park, have been reduced to about one-third of their peak size.

In response, Aderans became the first private company to support red pine forest regeneration efforts in the park in 2019. The company's long-standing environmental restoration and conservation activities were recognized by Shizuoka Prefecture, and in September 2024, Aderans received the Governor's Award as a "Shizuoka Future Forest Supporter."

■ About Fontaine Green Forest Campaign
Aderans has been running the "Fontaine Green Forest Campaign" since 2009 to promote the collection of unused wigs and support environmental conservation. As part of this initiative, Aderans entered into a partnership agreement in April 2019, known as "Shizuoka Future Forest Supporter Agreement," with Shizuoka Prefecture and Tuvalu-forest Corporation (Head office: Shibuya, Tokyo; Representative: Kota Mishima). Through this agreement, Aderans became the first private company to support the Red Pine Forest Regeneration Project at Shizuoka Prefectural Forest Park.

Through this campaign, a portion of sales from customers who contribute to the wig collection is used to fund the planting of saplings. These efforts are carried out in cooperation with Tuvalu-forest Corporation, which promotes environmental awareness. Since the campaign began in 2009, the total area supported for environmental conservation has reached 28,389 square meters, equivalent to more than half the area of the Tokyo Dome, and the scope of the initiative continues to expand each year.

■ Cherry Tree Planting in Tsunami-Affected Areas
•    Period: 2017-2025
•    Location: Tohoku and Sanriku regions
•    Overview: Aderans supported activities led by the nonprofit organization Sakura Namiki Network to plant cherry trees in areas affected by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake tsunami. These efforts serve as a living memorial to pass down the memory of the disaster to future generations. Aderans employees also visited the sites and participated in tree-planting activities. As a result of the organization's efforts, tree planting in the target areas was completed in 2021, and ongoing maintenance activities were transferred to local communities in 2025. Accordingly, Aderans concluded this initiative in 2025.
