Europe

(Benelux)Established "Stitching NU JIJ" Foundation to Support Cancer Patients and Families

 Lenny Van Zundato, the Shop Manager of Francie-hair Boutique, under Aderans Benelux, founded "Stichting Nu Jij" to support cancer patients based on her own cancer experience. Aderans Benelux is supporting this activity as well. Various events are held on the weekend, and 120 patients aged 18 to 40 have participated so far.

(UK)Held "Ladies Night Charity Fashion Show"

 Aderans UK held a CSR event, "Ladies Night Charity Fashion Show," in Brighton, England. The "Ladies Night Charity Fashion Show" was held with the aim of telling society at large that there are many people who suffer from hair loss, and calling for support of them.

(UK)Support for “My New Hair”

 "My New Hair" is a charity organization for people suffering from cancer and medical hair loss, set up by world class hair stylist Trevor Sorbie, MBE. Aderans UK, our group company in the United Kingdom, supplies wigs to the charity and provides coaching to beauticians in providing hair cuts.

(UK)Free Counseling at Hospital

 Since 2016, store hairstylists have been volunteering at the hospital in Brighton, where Aderans UK is located. They conduct seminars for depilated patients with treatment and personal counseling.



(UK) Support for "The Little Princess Trust"

 Aderans UK supports "The Little Princess Trust," the only charity organization endorsed by the Queen of the UK since 2011. The group is engaged in providing human hair wigs to children who have lost their hair due to cancer or other illnesses. Aderans UK is involved in shipping human hair to the factory, delivering wigs to the salon, and is fully supporting activities. We offer wigs to children suffering from hair loss. In 2020, Aderans Sweden and Aderans Germany joined this activity. We have started supported taking advantage of the synergy effect and offer wigs to children suffering from hair loss.

(UK)Presented a Wig to Joanna Rowsell

 Joanna Rowsell is an English cyclist on the Great Britain Cycling Team and was diagnosed with alopecia.
 She came in to one of Aderans UK shops looking for a wig for the Olympic ceremony. Aderans UK gifted her a custom-made wig for the ceremony.
 Also, Aderans UK gifted her a custom-made wig for her wedding in July 2015. Her wedding became a hot topic for conversations because of the Britain's popular magazine "Hello".

(Germany)Support for "Alopecia areata deutschland e.v."

 Since 2017, Aderans Germany has been supporting the alopecia patient group "Alopecia areata deutschland e.V." We offer wigs at discounted prices and free wigs for children under the age of 17. Three organizations, adding the Alopecia Foundation, made calendars using Alopecia patients as models, and donate sales to the organizations.

Overseas expansion of in-house salons at hospitals

 In-house salons at hospitals have been introduced in Sweden since 2011. This project is well recognized in Japan. As of July 2019, there is 8 shops.

(US)Donation to the American Breast Cancer Research Foundation

 Bosley has donated part of its revenue to the American Breast Cancer Foundation since 2014. From 2015, by changing donation from fixed amount of money to sales percentage during Pink Ribbon month, employee awareness was intensified and they became active. Currently, Bosley has donated more than $250,000 to the American Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

(US)Support for "Look Good Feel Better"

 "Look Good Feel Better" is an organization that provides free support for beauty techniques to improve the appearance of female cancer patients affected during treatment. To date, 2 million people in 27 countries were supported. Aderans Hair Goods provided about $8,000 worth of wigs for this program as an improvement item of quality of life.



Pink Hair Campaign

 Aderans Hair Goods, Inc., the U.S. company of the Aderans Group, sells Pink Hair Swatches to boost enlightenment for breast cancer, and donates their proceeds to support groups for breast cancer patients.

(US)Wig Donation for Support Groups

 In the U.S., there are non-profit charity organizations that support patients who need wigs for cancer treatment. Aderans Hair Goods has supported activities by providing wigs to those groups. In 2018, we offered about 1,800 wigs to 6 organizations.

 From 1992, Hair Club has provided non-surgical hair replacement services to children aged 6 to 17 who have lost their hair, as well as Aderans' Love Charity.

 Aderans Hair Goods has been carrying out "Toys for Tots" activity since 2018 with the idea of "toys for children." During the Christmas season, we distribute new, unopened toys to underprivi- leged children. We presented 220 toys during the year.

 HairClub works together with the Salvation Army to organize HairClub Cares: Christmas Toy Drive, aiming to enable children in all circumstances to receive gifts during the holiday season. In this activity to serve the local community, HairClub staff members also help pack and wrap the gifts for children.

Bosley Gives Back

 In celebration of Bosley’s 35th Anniversary and out of appreciation for US Armed Forces - Bosley created a program to grant a free hair restoration procedure to a deserving member of military who has served.



Support for Research Institutes

Bosley and Aderans Hair Goods, our U.S. Group Companies, offered its cooperation at the annual meeting of the NAAF (the National Alopecia Areata Foundation) in 2011 and presented the meeting with 100 wigs.

(Thailand)Donating Wigs to Hospital in Thailand

 On June 11, 2012, a ceremony was held in Thailand, one of the manufacturing bases for the Aderans Group, to donate wigs to hospitals and other facilities. The wigs that had been tried on at factory had previously been discarded due to operational issues, but the Aderans Group was able to donate and make use of these wigs.
 We have been donating wigs every year since 2012, in association with our wig production plant in Thailand. In 2019, we donated 130 pieces to 3 hospitals. Since the start, about 2,294 wigs have been donated in total.
 Until 2016, only Aderans Thai., Ltd. participated, but from 2017, we also offered wigs made by World Quality. We not only offered them to the hos- pitals in Bangkok, but also to the Buriram area, where we have a factory.

School Forestation in Aderans Thailand

Use of Scraps from Wig Manufacturing Process

 At Aderans Thai, considerations were made to eliminate waste and to effectively use as resources the scrap mate- rials that are produced during the manufacturing of wigs. Efforts are being made for various experimental manufacturing, such as artificial flow- ers, car wipes, cushions, and sandals.

 Our Thai factory sell the waste materials produced in the process of manufacturing our wigs to recyclers and use the proceeds to plant trees at our factory grounds.

 In 1999, the Group's production facilities in Thailand acquired ISO 14001 certification for environment-friendly operations. ISO 14001 substantiates efforts to protect the environment, and these facilities will continue to implement measures, as listed below, to maintain this status.

(Thailand) Supporting COVID-19 Vaccination

 World Quality Co., Ltd. (WQC), which mainly man- ufactures wigs, purchased and donated booster doses of COVID-19 vaccine for 140 people to Chulabhorn Hospital in May 2022 as part of its initiatives to support measures against the pandemic. The donated doses have been used to support the vaccination effort.
 When Thailand faced serious challenges with the COV- ID-19 pandemic, media kept sharing stories about many people being unable to get vaccinated. To help address this problem, the CSR Activity Committee of WQC organized fundraising and purchased the booster doses, using the pro- ceeds from the sale of waste materials and the support funds they had raised. After the donation, WQC received a letter of gratitude from the hospital.

Introduction of a Solar Energy System

 The factory has installed solar panels on the rooftop of the building to partially cover its electricity usage. Also, a solar-powered circulator is put in place to keep the water fresh in the pond on the premises (water for firefighting).

 Using a lunch break, factory employees pick up trash in the area around the factory every month since 2008 (the activity was suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic).

 In 2012, as a new production base, the factory began consignment production of custom-made wig hair planting at the Vientiane Factory in Laos. In 2017, Lao Quality Sole Co., Ltd., which operates the factory, was consolidated. The factory mainly engaged in hair planting for products received from World Quality Co., Ltd.

(Laos) Providing the Company’s Factory as a Temporary Medical Facility

 As a company with factories in Laos, we discussed how we could contribute to the country in the fight against the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and decided to close down the Savannakhet factory and donate its building to the country.
 Laos, with relatively few medical institutions, faced growing shortages of health care facilities and hospital beds due to the rapid spread of the virus. In response, we offered the Savannakhet factory buildingto Savannakhet Province in July 2021, to be temporarily used as a makeshift healthcare facility, and donated the building in January 2022. We also continue to provide other types of support, including relief supplies and monetary donations.

(Taiwan)Free Haircut at Disabled Facilities

 At Aderans Taiwan, our staffs visits facilities for the disabled and offer free haircut. Since we were called by the volunteer organization in 2012, we conduct them once a week in Kaohsiung City. In 2015, by request from a beauty salon owner of Keelung City, we also started offering the service in that city, too. This activity will also increase technical skills of our employees, so we will continue to do so in the future.

 Aderans Taiwan Co., Ltd. donated exhibited sample items from stores to hospitals in Kaohsiung City in 2017. While seeking to open hair salons in the hospital, in Taiwan, we found that there was a demand for free rental of wigs, and we decided to donate them for rental. In 2018, we donated 10 wigs and 20 hats for hair removal to hospitals in Taichung City.

Additional Factories built in Philippines

 Established in Clark, Philippines, in 2002. The factory manufactures and exports custom-made wigs for men and women, and produces artificial "Cyber Hair." In 2013, the second factory started operations for custom-made wig hair planting processes.

(Philippines)Support for typhoon victims in the Philippines (November, 2013)

 Typhoon Haiyan devastated the central Philippines in November 2013. Aderans Philippine, Inc. (API) donated to the local Red Cross for disaster victims in response to the crisis. In addition to donations from employees, we provided precooked foods such as instant noodles to local television stations.
